There are many questions when it comes to an investment in a green technology. Aquadra Water Smart System is here to answer the questions that you may have. Why should I collect rain water? How much will I save? How will this help me?

“I never thought of water as a crop until I read an article by Justin Lawson, P.E., in the June issue of PE, the Magazine for Professional Engineers. On average, an American uses 175 gallons of clean water per day, but for cooking or drinking uses barely a gallon. Therefore, more than 99 percent of the water goes down the drain. There are estimates that 50 percent could be reused as gray waterbyharvestingit to irrigate plant life and other such uses.”

AquadraFrequently Asked Questions

Why should I collect Rainwater?
There are many reasons why collecting rainwater is one of the best ways to help the environment and your wallet. When you take a look at the amount of water you can collect and save over the course of 5 hours it can be shocking how much you could use.

What do I use the Rainwater for?
The possibilities are endless if you are investing in the right products. Most commonly you would use the water to help water your garden which already takes up a vast amount of water from your house, but you can use it to wash your clothes, wash your car or flush your toilet.

Why is Rainwater good for my garden?
The normal tap water from your garden hose is not toxic, but the water does contain chemicals and heavy minerals that are not the best for your plants. Rainwater is considered “soft water” as it lacks the added minerals and chemicals from your typical ground water.

What is the payback on this green tech?
When comparing to other green investments, water collection has the best payback in the shortest time. Depending on the system and the uses involved the pay back can be 1-3 years, while solar and other technologies are 5-10 years.

Why pick Aquadra?
Aquadra sets a higher standard when it comes to rainwater collection. The Aquadra System is also designed to make your invest more attractive when outside of your house. We commit ourselves to provide an attractive solution for water collection.

How do I apply this to my house?
When you receive the Aquadra 75g Tank, it comes with a kit to mount the unit to your house. The mounting kit allows you to bolt and secure the tank to the side of the house with two securing bolts. Once the tank is securely in place the tank can withstand any weather condition. The outside of the house is not the only place to secure the unit. There are many other options like along the fence or inside the garage. The possibilities are endless. The Aquadra Water Tank was designed with the consumer in mind when it came to assembly. Every part, hookup and add-on is non-proprietary. Meaning, everything is Hardware Store friendly when it comes to set up and expansion.

How does it collect rainwater?
Once the Aquadra tank is securely in place the easy part begins. The down spout from gutters needs to be diverted into the top of the Aquadra tank. (Large 3” opening) From there let nature do its thing. For an average house roof will collect 75 gallons worth in 14 hours.* To transfer the free resource collected, “water” Aquadra tanks have large 2” ports allowing you to transfer the water with less restriction.

What colors do I get to choose from?
Any color you wish! We carry stock colors (black, red, forest green), but if you have a specific solid color “Pantone Colors” we will do what we can to match your tank to your environment. “Knowing the importance of color when offering tanks, we are one of the first to offer Violet Tanks which is the Standard Code for Reclaim Water applications.”

All I get is a tank?
No. When you purchase a tank it comes with all the supplies needed to mount. If you want more from your tank there are plenty of add-ons to satisfy almost every need from a leaf catcher to a first flush valve, filters everything you need all the way to a pump!
