Rain Water Harvesting > Water Hog
A Waterhog installation on a fence featuring the On-the-Wall optional wall mount.

The Waterhog is a novel solution to the problem of rainwater or greywater storage in areas where space is at a premium. The Waterhog's relative small size enables it to fit into many spaces previously not available to water tanks, while its modular design enables it to be extended and capacity increased bit by bit and in multiple locations around your house and property. The Waterhog's narrow profile makes it the perfect water storage solution along side walls, down narrow passages and underneath decks and house structures. Being able to sit flat, on its side or stand upright on its end the waterhog is adaptable to almost any situation.

Waterhog Units

The Waterhog is currently available to fit your individual needs. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally and plumbed in parallel or in a series to allow diverse water storage to fit any commercial or industrial design. There is an optional wall-mounting kit designed specifically for the Waterhog tank to enable use of existing structures as a mounting surface.

Based on your individual application we can engineer and design a custom configuration to meet your specific needs for thermal mass applications, fire suppression systems, green roofs, irrigation, and rain water harvesting. A cost-effective way to add to your LEED certification points. Your imagination is your only limitation; contact us to discuss your ideas, requirements and applications.

Water Storage

Each Waterhog has a capacity of 48.3 Gallons. The external dimensions of the Waterhogs are 71" x 20" x 8.75".

Installation Recommendations

The Waterhog can also be used in your housing structure, under your housing structure, or fixed to the sides of your house or along your fence. The Waterhog can also be used under your deck or patio, and along your garden bed.

Groundhog Thermal Storage

The Groundhog is designed purely to add thermal mass to a building. This means that the tanks are filled once, then permanently capped off. The Groundhog units do not connect to each other and do not store greywater for reuse. Groundhog is most effective when installed between floor joists immediately below the exposed floor surface.  It is durable, impact resistant and UV protected.  You can add more than twice the thermal mass of a cavity brick wall. The Groundhog units are L.E.E.D. Certified.

Groundhog UnitsThermal Mass

Groundhog is not made for potable use: you cannot store and then drink the water. For this purpose you would use Waterhog, which is made of certified potable plastic. The Waterhogs can also be used within the floor plane of a building.

Installation Recommendations

The installation guide for Groundhog suggests some of the many support systems which will work with Groundhog but it is very important that the engineer designing the structure of the building is aware that each Groundhog weighs 440lbs and must be supported along its entire length as shown in the installation guide.
