Enterprise Rent-a-Car
The Porta-Pad and Water Oil Separator (WOS) was installed at Enterprise Rent-a-Car to solve the problem of dirty vehicle wash water flowing to the storm drain. Because of the dirt, grease and oils in car wash water, it was not appropriate for discharge to the sanitary sewer. The patented Porta-Pad solved this by containing the wash water and pumping it to the WOS, which lowered the oil content to below 100 parts per million.
The effluent and runoff from vehicle washing and cleaning activities can cause damage to the environment, especially rivers and streams. The dirt, oil and metals that wash off the vehicle’s surface, tires and brakes, combined with the cleaning agents, can be very toxic to fish, even in small quantities.
Together, the Porta-Pad and Water Oil Separator System provide a durable, portable and effective solution for containing wash water and filtering oil and grease out of the water that discharges to storm drains or sanitary sewers.
